Carmel-by-the-Sea

June 12, 2011: Carmel is one of those beach towns that started life as an artists colony and has ended up as a high-toned tourist destination. It enjoys the "it's cold and it's damp" Monterey Peninsula climate.












Ocean Avenue, the main drag, goes downhill to the beach:
