Indianapolis, IN, September 3, 2011:
Saturday morning's Broad Ripple Farmers Market is a cross between a farmers' market with the bounty of the local harvest and a chic chic farmers' market with precious cheeses, gourmet preserves and specialty produce. It's a little heavy on the baked goods and priced more like Dupont Circle and less like RFK.
We stopped by Johnny's Market for Michigan peaches and strawberries but, for some reason, skipped the Decker melons:
We lunched at Steak 'n Shake:
Then we explored the Indianapolis Art Center, which was founded by the WPA during the Great Depression and has grown into an art school.
